We would like to acknowledge that the land on which we gather together is the traditional unceded territory of the Algonquin Anishinaabe people. We recognize their enduring presence on this land and pay respect to their elders, both past and present.
As we come together for the inaugural TEDxMechanicsville, we celebrate the power of unity and collective effort. Our theme, Ensemble, reminds us of the importance of working together, respecting each other’s histories, and building a future that honors and includes all voices.
We also acknowledge the contributions of all First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples in shaping and strengthening our community and country. In the spirit of Ensemble, we are reminded of the importance of reconciliation and the responsibility we have to honor and respect Indigenous traditions, cultures, and histories.
Thank you for joining us.
