For over 25 years, Jennifer has been on a journey to reframe business as a mechanism for creating a more equitable and sustainable world. She began this journey while working in microcredit in rural communities in Northern Ghana and supporting women entrepreneurs in Ottawa. For over 10-years Jennifer played a pivotal role in the growth of a worker-owned business that pioneered Fair Trade in Canada, to the benefit of 10,000 small scale farmers in the global south.
Jennifer has been deeply involved in promoting Employee Ownership as a way to foster a more equitable capitalist model, where all participants benefit from their labor. Over the past nine years, she has worked tirelessly to expand the reach of employee ownership in Canada. Jennifer has designed and implemented Employee Ownership in a wide-variety of industries, has advised on governance structure and helped navigate sticky ownership situations, while being a trusted advisor to dozens of businesses.
Jennifer is also the co-owner of an organic and locally focused food delivery business, which she helped to grow by over 700% during the pandemic. Jennifer believes in creating vibrant local communities and through her food business,focuses on connecting local growers to consumers.
An adventure seeker at heart, Jennifer has lived and worked in Mexico, El Salvador, Peru, and Ghana, and she is fluent in English, French, and Spanish. As a mother of four, Jennifer's children inspire her commitment to creating a more sustainable future.
